Misogyny

Women can, of course, be educated, but their minds are not adapted to the higher sciences, philosophy, or certain of the arts. Women may have happy inspirations, taste, elegance, but they have not the ideal.

The difference between man and woman is the same as between animal and plant.
The animal corresponds more closely to the character of the man, the plant to that of the woman.
In woman there is a more peaceful unfolding of nature, a process, whose principle is the less clearly determined unity of feeling.

If woman were to control the government, the state would be in danger, for they do not act according to the dictates of universality, but are in influenced by accidental inclinations and opinions.

The education of woman goes on one only knows how, in the atmosphere of picture thinking, as it were, more through life than through the acquisition of knowledge. Man attains his position only through stress of thought and much specialized effort.

Antichrist

I just watched Lars Von Trier's latest movie, "Antichrist".

In my most humble inexperienced opinion, it has a few exquisitely crafted images of wondrous beauty with a milky, dreamlike quality.

But without a doubt, it is a horrible combination of extraordinarily unpleasant elements.
It is a crazy attempt to merge three extremely different genres: art house, horror and hard-core pornography.
It's offensively misogynistic.
It's needlessly graphic in its use of violence.

Von Trier has made Antichrist after being released from an assylum, and it seems he needs even more psychiatric help than the last time he entered the psychiatric ward.

And I Still Wonder

rI've always wondered what is that keeps me there, that I always come back, with arms wide open, to it, to them.

Is it love, or is it the repulse of the rejection, fear of lonliness, an unfulfilled desire maybe, or me being weak, me being a nice guy, being too forgiving, or is it pitty, or self pitty.

I guess it's some kinda addiction.

But I still wonder.
